Pendleton Backcountry Horsemen
PO Box 94
Pendleton, OR 97801

The Pendleton Chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen of Oregon was formed in June of 1999 and has been growing strong ever since. Over the past 9 years we have held several successful events open to the public including poker rides, educational seminars and spring warm ups where we have set up several trail like obstacles for people to negotiate while in a safe, controlled environment.
The Pendleton Chapter is also diversified with its member events. Each year the chapter does several trail cleaning projects and pack trips along with trail rides each month, day rides as well as weekend trips. We are also proud to host educational events for our members including CPR/First Aid certification classes, LNT (Leave No Trace) training and speaking engagements by specific interests (vets, equine chiropractor, etc.). We also enjoy an annual Christmas Party each year where the members are abe to get together to socialize and enjoy a fun 'Chinese Gift Exchange'.
We have several members who live great distances from Pendleton and therefore we publish a monthly newsletter to keep all members informed of the chapter's activities. Our newsletter is sent via e-mail as an Adobe Acrobat document to speed up the time it takes to get to all of our members and to save on printing as well as postage. Newsletters are also posted on this website for easy reference.
If you are interested in supporting the mission of the Backcountry Horsemen I encourage you to join the Pendleton Chapter. As a member of the Pendleton Chapter, you automatically become a member of the Back Country Horsemen of Oregon as well as the Back Country Horsemen of America. Please feel free to attend a chapter meeting which takes place the first Wednesday of each month. If you have any questions, please contact any of our Officers.
